WHO WE ARE is a family owned company, rich in tradition.

The New Mexican Connection was created in 1992 as a mail order catalog.  It's goal was to provide an avenue for displaced New Mexicans and Mexican food connoisseurs to purchase quality products and chile from New Mexico.

Our first catalog featured canned and frozen chile and sauces from the HATCH Chile company, which had just formed in New Mexico, and other raw products grown or made in The Land of Enchantment.  The catalog was two pages and was advertised in New Mexico magazine for those New Mexicans who lived out of state.  It worked out well and we got lots of "thank you" letters from happy people who had previously been unable to get real New Mexico chile and products once leaving the state.

With the introduction of Windows 95 and the internet, we were able to develop a web site and reach out to even more chile afficianado's and displaced New Mexicans.  Our products grew and we soon developed our own "Flame Roasted Whole Frozen Green Chiles" which are processed the way New Mexicans have been roasting and freezing their Chiles for generations.

Being a small family business, operated from home with help from Mom and Dad as well as brothers and sisters, we used up all the space in the house and yard with offices, packing rooms, storage sheds and walk in freezers and refrigerators.

In the fall of 2003 we finally moved into a warehouse and had a huge freezer built for the frozen chile and an area to flame roast all the chiles.  This increased our operating area (3500 Square Feet) and allows us to now expand our product line and manufacture and distribute more quality types of chile products under the New Mexican Connection name.

This brings us up to the present......look for more to come.

UPS GROUND SERVICE

90% of all our orders ship by UPS ground service.  In our product lists, unless noted, all our products ship by UPS ground service.  We charge the shipping rate based on the total weight amount of your order, your location, and it's packaging and handling.

GLASS JARS AND HEAVY CANS

Requires careful packaging so the contents make it to you safely which adds to the cost of shipping.  We keep our prices on our products as low as we can.
